A brief history

Juso (named aftre the grandfather of the current owner) was established in 2018 in Sagaredjo in the region of Kakheti. The original winery fell into disuse after the collapse of the Soviet Union before being revived by owner and winemaker Lasha Khvedelidze. Juso makes 7,500 bottles of five, certified-organic amber, red and white wines in qvevri, using Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, Budeshuri, Kisi, Mtsvane, Tsolikouri and Buera varieties. Juso wants to eventually make blended and oak-aged wines as well as the traditional chacha. The winery has 17 ancient qvevri with total capacity of 18 tonnes. Grandfather Juso planted family vineyard Kostaphé, on the banks of Iori and Tvaltkhevi rivers, which is now over 60-years-old. Juso exports to Germany, the USA and Japan and in 2018 won its first medals at international competitions.Juso is a member of the Georgian Natural Wine Association and the Biological Farming Association Elkana.
