Levani’s Marani
A brief history
Levani’s Marani was established in 2017 in Akhmeta in the region of Kakheti. Owner/winemaker Levan Gogoladze makes 8,000 bottles of certified-organic and medal-winning amber and red qvevri varietals using Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Kisi and Saperavi varieties. The wines are whole-bunch fermented with wild yeast and minimal intervention. The winery logo is a swallow, a bird that is local to the area and which returns to nest every spring to coincide with the “opening” of Qvevri at the winery.
