A brief history

Baghdati Estates was established in 2016 by Malkhaz Mshvildadze in Baghdati in the Imereti region of Georgia, where the vines are located on the North-East slope of the left bank of the Khanistskali River. The winery produces organic and biodynamic wines, making classic reds, whites and rosés as well as two qvevri-fermented whites, using Tsolikouri, Tsitska, Krakhuna, Dzelshavi and Otskhanuri Sapere varieties. “Our wine is fermented and aged naturally, partially by Imeretian method, in 150-year-old qvevri, and partially by classical method,” Says Malkhaz. “They are unfiltered and contain no sulphites.”
