Nino Meris Wine Cellar
A brief history
Nino Meris Wine Cellar was established in 2016 in the town of Dedoplistskaro in the region of Kakheti. Winemaker, Nino Madzgarashvili, makes 5,000 bottles of organic amber, orange and red wine in qvevri, using Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane and Saperavi varieties. The winery began life when Nino, on a teacher’s salary, and her mother, who is the winery manager, bought one qvevri to start the winemaking journey. Two years later production has increased to 7 tonnes and the wines are sold in the Netherlands, France, Switzerland and Germany.
