Papari Valley
A brief history
Papari Valley was established in 2004 in Papari (horse’s mane in Georgian) in the region of Kakheti. Owner and winemaker Shalva “Nukri” Kurdadze makes 35,000 bottles of organic-certified, low-intervention amber dry and sweet red and dry rosé wines in qvevri using Rkatsiteli, Chinuri and SaperaviThe winery, which has officially certified organic vineyards. uses a multi-terrace system of qvevris, which allows the transfer of wine from one qvevri to another by using gravity instead of a pump, which can hinder or harm some of the micro-biological processes. Since 2018, Papari Valley has exported to Europe, the USA, Japan and Hong Kong.
