Periani
A brief history
PERIANI vineyards are planted on 50 hectares, on the territory of the former lands of Vejini, on the Northeastern slope of the Tsiv-Gombori ridge, in the middle of the left bank of the Alazani river, 240 meters above sea level.
The soil is dark brown, moderately carbonated, moderately moist, loamy. The selected method of vineyard care helps to maintain the natural balance, the formation of local microflora and the development of the soil structure. All this reduces the risk of the spread of vine diseases and helps to highlight the terroir in the wine.
The climate is moderately humid and subtropical. Moderately cold winters and hot summers are common. The average annual temperature is 13°C, minimum - 2-3°C. Precipitation ranges from 650 mm to 1080 mm. The annual duration of sunlight varies between 2150-2200 hours, and 1550-1600 hours during the vegetation period.
The main part of the vineyards is occupied by such unique wine grape varieties as Saperavi, Khikhvi and Rose Rkatsiteli.
