Bolero
A brief history
Bolero was established in 2012 in Tiblisi by Vakhtang Karichashvili. The winery produces 14 million bottles under multiple labels and owns Gruzwinprom, one of the oldest and largest wineries and distilleries in Georgia, located in the heart of Kakheti, in the city of Gurjaani, in the Alazani Valley an area known for its ancient winemaking traditions and close to the protected regions of Kindzmarauli, Akhasheni, Mukuzani, Tsinandali and Manavi. Built in 1929 on an eight-ha property, the Gruzwinprom embraces the old and new with state-of-the-art equipment and Qvevri jars of which there are over 200 with average volume of 3000 litres, all nearly or over 100-years-old. Bolero produces amber, orange, dry and sweet red, dry and sweet white, dry and sweet rosé, brandy and chacha, using Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kkhikhvi, Kisi, Aleksandrouli, Mujuretuli, Ojaleshi, Usakehlouri and Aladasturi, among others.
