Nose

The nose is very expressive and explosive with aromas of pears, whites peaches and with nuances of cinnamon. dried banana and spice.

Palate

The mouth is textural and refreshing with lemon tart flavours following through to fresh apricots and supported by hints of acacia honey. It is light and aromatic.

Growing Conditions

The grapes used to make this wine are hand harvested from vineyards planted in the mid 1990s at an altitude of 500 masl on limestone soil. The vineyards are managed using organic viticulture techniques.

Harvest

All grapes were harvested and sorted by hand at the end of September and second week of October

Bottling

The Qvevri part went through a coarse filtration. Bottled unfined with a minimal amount of So2.

Winemaking

After 2 weeks of carbonic maceration in qvevri, the wine was pressed and racked to Qvevri and old oak barrels for an ageing of 6 months.

Aging

70% aged in old barrels, 30% in qvevri

Appearance

The colour is yellow with an amber hue.
