Nose

This wine has a deep and rich bouquet of pine, pear and quince aromas.

Palate

Well balanced tannin structure with pear and apricot following through to the palate.

Growing Conditions

Grapes are grown in the Appellation Origin Controlled micro-zone of Tsinandali, Kakheti region, eastern Georgia. The soil type is Alluvial, alluvial-Diluvial, brown soil.

Winemaking

The Rkatsiteli grapes are picked in full ripeness with all procedures carried out manually by hand to minimise any mechanical impact on the grapes. After pressing, the grape liquid goes in to clay vessels (amphoras) which are buried in the earth.. Here, fermentation takes place and once complete, the wine stays in Qvevris for 5-6 months on its skins. It is then transferred to stainless still tanks for couple of month for filtration and bottling.

Aging

After bottling, is recommended to keep and age the wine in bottles for at least 6 months before consumption. Cellaring potential is up to 5 years.

Appearance

The wine is amber in colour.
